Press Release – Dental Professionals Encouraged to Prioritise Their Physical Wellbeing

Dental Professionals Encouraged to Prioritise Their Physical Wellbeing: “Pain is a Signal, Not a Standard”
The 4th Dental Professionals Wellbeing Advocates Roundtable took place on the 28/1/25 and sparked an important conversation about the physical demands of dentistry and the need to shift how we respond to discomfort and strain.
Many dental professionals experience aches and pains throughout their careers, often brushing them off as an unavoidable part of the job. But what if we changed the narrative? Pain isn’t just something to push through—it’s a signal that our bodies need support, adjustment, or recovery.
This roundtable emphasized the power of early awareness, quality equipment, and intentional movement in preventing long-term physical issues.
Key Takeaways from the Discussion:

The evening concluded with a guided full-body scan meditation led by Victoria Wilson, giving attendees the opportunity to truly tune in, connect, and listen to their bodies.
This exercise reinforced the importance of regular self-check-ins to prevent tension from becoming injury.
A special announcement was made introducing Conor Creedon, a physiotherapist with a special interest in back pain, who will be joining the next roundtable to share expert strategies on prevention and recovery.
